Seven Steps

In today’s fast-paced and complex technological landscape, successful project execution demands a structured and adaptive approach. This seven-step methodology provides an outline for a clear, repeatable framework to help take projects from the development of a Vision to the delivery of a solution.

It doesn’t matter if there are more steps, or if there are fewer. What matters is that your chosen process helps you to formulate your ideas and to plan your approach – before it’s too late to formulate your ideas and plan your approach.

• You will need a vision, because without a vision, how will you know where you are going?
• Write it down! If it doesn’t work on paper, it doesn’t work!
• Think before you do.

It is much easier and a whole load less expensive to solve problems at the analysis and design stage rather than through testing. If you don’t know how something works, ask someone that does.

Inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey

I was looking for images of monkeys looking thoughtfully into the distance, and when I could find nothing suitable, I asked AI to create some for me. One of the AI images was an ape on a rock, silhouetted against the sunset and looking into the distance. It made me think about Moon-watcher, the leader ot the man-apes at the beginning of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Moon-watcher was stirred by the silent presence of the monolith – an object that was immortalised in the film, but in that moment, it was unknowable and profound. Its arrival marked a turning point. The instincts and actions it awakened in Moon-watcher and his group sparked a journey that would span millennia – from the dust of the savannah to the surface of the Moon, to Jupiter, and then beyond.

Moon-watcher experienced a revelation. It wasn’t a glimpse of some distant future, but a profound shift that expanded his awareness and redefined what was possible. In that moment, his mind was stretched, it was the spark of something greater. Moon-watcher’s descendants would not be bound to the savannah.
